It is not uncommon for me to strike up a conversation about my Rothy’s while out and about. People are all a buzz with Rothy’s style and I’m a huge fan of their product, mission, and brand. This makes it easy for me to share my honest opinion with everyone from the nice woman in the pasta aisle at Whole Foods to you, my dear friends on the interwebs! To read about my initial, honest opinion on Rothy’s, check out this post. Today, however, we’re here to talk Rothy’s style.

My review of the different Rothy's Styles
Since my first Rothy’s imitation, they’ve expanded their style catalog from 3 (The Flat, Loafer, Point) to now 5 styles: The Flat, Loafer, Point, Sneaker, and Chelsea. Rothy’s constantly rolls out new prints within each style giving customers a huge range to shop from. Over the fall of 2019, they even had a limited edition styles which they called the Square Loafer, and the Rounded Square Flat (pictured below).

For the purpose of this review, I’ll be telling you about my experience with the following variations of Rothy’s style: The Point, Loafer, Sneaker, Chelsea, and the Rounded Square Flat.
The Point
The point was the first Rothy’s style I tried, and I loved it so much I ordered another pair in a different color! To me, this style is chic and sophisticated. I feel like the point easily dresses up a pair of boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt. I’m here for the effortless elevation the Point offers.
Sizing:
For me, these fit true to size. Yes, the toe box is narrow as it comes to a point, but the lengthiness the point offers gave me more room, resulting in a true to size fit. I worry if I would have sized up, these would slide off too easily.
Comfort:
I’ve worn these everywhere. From walking in a busy city, trudging through an airport, to running errands around town. While they don’t offer the best long term arch support (if that’s important to you), they are breathable, soft, and great for running around.
Wear:
I’ve had my Points the longest, and have noticed no real wear and tear on them. The soles are still intact after much use and a few washes. My only issue has been with the lighter color point, I do notice more dirt around the toe which is to be expected. The lighter color is harder to keep clean, but the fact that these are washable is a life saver.

The Loafer
I like the classic look the loafer style offers. With leggings, dress pants, or jeans the loafer is a versatile option! Sadly, I should have sized up in the loafer as I find it a tad uncomfortable for long periods of wear. I’ll share more about the fit below…

Sizing:
I would recommend sizing at least a half size up (more if you have wider feet). The loafer narrows at the toe box, and without the added room the point gives, my piggies feel quite smushed. I wore the loafer on a trip recently and was pretty uncomfortable when we landed and had a whole day of walking around. For this reason, I suggest sizing up.
Comfort:
Fit aside, these are fine for walking around, and day to day wear.
Wear:
Admittedly, I have not worn the loafer style as often as my other pairs. However, I did wear these on vacation and since they were the only nicer shoes I brought, these babies trotted all around town, 2 airports, and withstood a wash. The darker colors of the camo style help camouflage any stains or dirt.
The Sneaker
Who doesn’t love a good sneaker! This Rothy’s style is perfect for those weekend errands (ahem, brunch), fun outings, or days when you are going to be doing a lot of walking.

Sizing:
The sneaker style fits true to size for me. I felt no discomfort around the toes. I wear the sneakers with no socks and feel like they slide on and off with ease.
Comfort:
This style is SUPER COMFY. The sole is thicker than the other styles and the insole offers more cushion.
Wear:
I wear my sneaks, a TON and have had no issues with wear and tear. I did get a lighter color, so it’s to be expected that dirt shows more easily. I’ve washed these a few times and they’re still in great condition. Be sure to remove the midsole before washing (part between the sole and insole that snaps into the shoe…you’ll see if you get a pair!).
The Chelsea
I was excited when Rothy’s rolled out the Chelsea style. Being in a state that gets snow, ice, and rain this style modeled after a Chelsea Boot is perfect for those elements. I opted for the original Chelsea style vs. the Merino style which is made from sustainable sourced merino wool spun with the recycled plastic string.

Sizing:
Another true to size fit. I usually wear a pair of thin socks with the Chelsea and have no issues with them feeling to snug.
Comfort:
When I first tried these on, I shared that they felt like little foot clouds. Needless to say, this style is super comfortable. Offering the same thicker sole as the sneaker, and cushiony insole, these are great for those times you need to be on your feet for long periods. I also love that there is a little loop on the back heel which makes it easy to pull these babies on and go.
Wear:
Heading into winter I opted for a classic black color. The darker color helps to hide any dirty or grime. I’ve worn these in the rain and while I’m not splashing through puddles intentionally, they do keep their integrity through the elements.
The Rounded Square Flat (Limited Release)
When I saw the Limited release collection Rothy’s did with designer Marta Ferri, I knew I had to have a pair! Nothing makes a statement like a bright pair of shoes! I opted for the flat style in the limited release collection, which Rothy’s deemed the Rounded Square Flat as the toe box is round like their traditional flat, but comes to kind of a square end. While I can’t speak to the fit of the traditional flat because that is the one style I have not tried, I hope this will help give you some insight into how they might fit.

Sizing:
True to size, with a little bit of room. This style fits me pretty true to size. I say that because I do notice them sliding on and off very easily and if I was walking quickly I could see these maybe sliding a little too much. That being said, I think if I sized down they would be too snug. Since this style was part of a limited release and is made from the merino material, I think they have a little extra stretch which is giving me the extra room.
Comfort:
So soft and so cozy! These are pretty darn comfortable! This style has a higher vamp and a wood like sole offering more stability. The insoles are cozy soft and cushiony.
Wear:
I have been a little scared to wear these when it’s rainy or wet out, so I can’t speak much to how they withstand the elements. Overall, I have no complaints with quality of materials. Actually, I’d argue that this limited release pair is a little extra luxe compared to the others. I think I’ll save this Rothy’s style for special occasions ;).
