In true authentic form, I am writing this post while up in the air! The travel wellness and beauty essentials I am about to dish are literally packed away in my bag as we speak (or, as I type). Getting ready for this trip I realized I pack the same essentials every time I go out of town. Travel is two things: rewarding, and stressful. I find this entourage of wellness and beauty travel essentials make the latter less of a worry.
11 Must Pack Travel Beauty and Wellness Essentials
Vitamin C & Hand Sanitizer
Plane, train or automobile, traveling is a stressor. When you’re stressed your immune system is compromised. Not to mention, the amount of people and germs you come into contact while traveling…I’m getting the willies just thinking about it! I never travel without some form of vitamin c effervescent and hand sanitizer. Any little immune boost or defense I can get, COME AT ME.
Beautycounter Concealer Pen & Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup (or any makeup really) while on the road. My MO is to board a flight all moisturized up with no makeup on my face. We had a super early flight on our last trip, so I applied a hydrating essence, Countertime Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream (night cream) and eye cream before we left the house. When we landed, I had face wipes handy to give myself a little refresh and my Beautycounter Dew Skin to give me some coverage and SPF.
Speaking of Makeup Wipes…
these are a god send when on the road. Sometimes you need a little refresh! I like to wipe my face and neck off after flying or traveling in the car for long periods…makes me feel like I showered but not ya know?
Protecting your skin from the sun is important every day, whether you’re headed for a beach vacation or not! I love face sticks like this one from Pacifica. It’s easy to throw in a carry on so I can sunscreen UP right as I land and waste no time hitting the beach or sightseeing.
Be kind to your pits, and your seat mate – pack some deodorant. Bonus points if it is natural and aluminum free. Extra bonus points if it is mini, because mini things are just adorable.
Stay hydrated, my friends…
Save yourself the $10 and bring an empty water bottle. I like to travel with a stainless steel bottle so it keeps my water cool. Make sure it’s empty if you are going through TSA, and fill after you’ve gone through security. Traveling by car? Bring your own water! Nothing gives me more pain than having to sit in a cluttered car on a road trip…I can picture the plastic water bottles from gas station stops just cluttering the floor and it’s making my skin crawl y’all!
Last but certainly not least, I am not going anywhere without my Jade Face Roller…
I tend to bloat when I fly, and even not flying, while you’re on the road it’s inevitable you are going to be eating on the go and with that comes more sodium. This is where the face roller comes into play. When I get to the hotel, and every morning like I do at home, I like to give my face a roll out to help drain excess fluid. Don’t feel like packing a face roller? Pro-tip: get some ice from the hotel ice machine and roll int along your face in the morning, under your eyes, along your jawbone – this will help with the travel puff!
With holiday travel upon us, I hope you can take some of these essentials and put them to use! Have a beauty or wellness essential that has a permanent first class ticket in your carryon?
