Wedding Ready | Skincare Routine for a Glowing Complexion

If there’s one thing  I have paid extra attention to throughout this wedding preparation, it’s my skincare routine. Everyone wants that effortless glowy complexion, especially on your wedding day. Today, I’m sharing some skincare staples I’ve implemented in my skincare routine to make sure I’m putting my best face forward on the big day.

Vitamin C

Adding Vitamin C products to my skincare has seriously changed my skin for the better. There are many days where I feel confident going foundation or concealer free because I have that nice even glow that Vitamin C products bring.

Here are my go-to Vitamin C products and a little info on how I use them:

My obsession withIMAGE Skincare Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser is no joke. This stuff is a game changer. Not only does it smell like an orange dream, it gently cleanses your skin leaving your face feeling soft, hydrated, and glowing. Bonus points because a little bit goes a long way. This bottle will last you FOREVER. I use a dime sized amount every morning, and massage into my face with warm water for about a minute, then rinse and voila! You have prepped your skin for the day.

The Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser removes impurities, brightens and hydrates skin, and evens out your skin tone. In less than a week I really saw a difference in my skin, and now I can’t start my day without this holy grail of a product.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum is another super star product that has really improved my skin’s appearance. For me, the serum is not an everyday product. I use it when I feel my skin is a little dull or needs some extra evening. On average, I use the serum probably twice a week. I like to go to bed with really hydrated skin. If I’m experiencing any trouble areas, I like to target those with the appropriate treatment before bed. If my skin is lagging, I’ll rub a little serum into my problem areas on a clean face before bed and layer with my night cream. When I wake up, I’m greeted with a fresh hydrated face.

Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow Boosting Mud Mask is a skin saver for those problem times that come around once a month (ladies, you know what I’m talking about). Again, this is not an everyday, or even an every week product for me. I tend to lean on theses masks when my skin is needing a little TLC. And, let’s be real – there’s no easier way to unwind and paper yourself at home than a good facial mask. You can buy these Vitamin C Glow Boosting Mud Masks as a set of four on Amazon and add to your skincare routine!

Rollin’ and Exfoliate-in’

Next up are some fun beauty tools that I’ve been using to keep my face looking oh so fresh. First, let’s talk about jade rolling.  Jade Roller /RSB Brand – $12.99

Jade Rolling is an ancient Chinese skincare technique, where you use a dual-ended and held massager with two jade stone heads to massage your face. The benefits of jade rolling include:

  • Improved blood circulation
  • Reduced swelling
  • Helps skincare products to penetrate deeper
  • Reduce puffiness from fatigue and help stimulate lymphatic system
  • Improved circulation to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles

In a nutshell, I love using my jade roller in the morning to help de-puff my face, and get rid of those pesky under eye bags that come as a result of your lymphatic system needing stimulated.

Second, let me tell you about my best friend (my skin’s best friend), the GlowSpin – Premium Facial Cleansing System from Vanity Planet. This baby exfoliates, sloughs off dead skin, and leaves my skin feeling cleaner than ever before. I’ve implemented this cleansing system into my skincare routine by using it about 2 times a week or as needed, in the evenings. The Glow Spin system is a 2 speed facial cleanser that comes with 3 antibacterial brush heads (Daily Cleansing Facial Brush, Exfoliating Facial Brush, and Silicone Facial Brush).

 Moisture Up

I cannot stress the importance of moisturizing your skin & doing it with the right products. I moisturize with different products for day and night because my skin needs different nutrients. Overnight, your body looses a lot of water as you go through a state of detox during sleep. Make sure your skin is hydrated so you can wake up looking and feeling refreshed.

Here are my day and night time moisturizers

Daytime & Night time: I like to dab a little Beautycounter No. 3 Balancing Facial oil on any trouble spots. Not only does this serum smell amazing, it’s packed with safe for you, beneficial ingredients. The No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil  is perfect for those areas where you need a little skin clarity, as it’s ingredients like meadowfoam seed oil and chamomile work together to calm and balance skin.

Looking for a lightweight, safe for you and effective moisturizer? Try Beautycounter’s Nourishing Day Cream

I then moisturize the rest of my face with Beautycounter’s Nourishing Day Cream. This lightweight moisturizer is a game changer for my skin. The perfect mix of organic coconut oil, safflower oil, and aloe plumps and moisturizes my skin throughout the day, and I don’t have to worry about a greasy feeling.

Night time: I layer Beautycounter’s Nourishing Night Cream over my balancing facial oil at night. The ingredients in this powerful but clean night cream help to protect against dryness overnight. To top my nighttime routine off, I dab a little bit of the nourishing eye cream which helps hydrate the delicate under eye skin…which means I wake up looking rested and ready to conquer!

There ya have it – my wedding ready skincare routine! Couple this routine with getting enough water and sleep, and you are on your way to a glowy complexion that many lust after. Do you have a favorite skincare product, or something you’ve done to mix up your routine? I would love to hear about it!
