You may be finding yourself adjusting to a new work at home lifestyle. While it is hopeful that in the days ahead life may gradually return to “normal,” the reality is many of us may be working at home for the foreseeable future. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I was a regular work at home employee. While I love the flexibility, I would be lying if I said working from home wasn’t hard. It took me months to nail down a routine, and I am constantly adjusting my workspace to ensure I am set up for success. Through my work from home experience, I have tried and tested my share of office and org gadgets. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite work at home essentials and hope that these make your work at home transition an easy one!

5 work at home must haves
Blue Light Blocking Glasses
From staring at a screen all day, then staring at our phone or TV all night – your eyes are suffering! I have found these blue light blockers really help in eliminating eye strain, watery eyes, and headaches that come from the screen life. There’s also something about putting on a pair of glasses that makes me instantly feel in “work mode,” – helping to improve my productivity. I love this pair from Empire & Co., they’re trendy, well made and don’t have the strange glare effect that you get with some blue light blockers.

Memory Foam Cushion
My life changed the day I got this memory foam cushion for my at-home office. Sitting at a desk all day does a number on your back and hips. Investing in a quality chair cushion may help alleviate back, sciatic, or hip pain.
Laptop or Monitor Riser
I never realized how hunched over I was sitting at my desk until I started using a riser. Putting your laptop or monitor on a riser helps bring your screen to eye level which cuts back on the neck strain. I use this stand I found on Amazon, and love that it includes cut-outs for holding a coffee cup, organizing desk supplies, and has enough space underneath to store notebooks.
Notebooks
Obviously a given, but I love a cute notebook. I also find it helpful to keep different notebooks for different areas of your life. For example, I have a work notebook, and at home/to-do notebook, which means I’ve purchased this set of 3 notebooks several times!
Wireless Bluetooth Headphones
When the stay-at-home order began, I decided to invest in a quality pair of Bluetooth headphones. I went with the Apple Airpod Pros, and am so happy with my purchase! They work great for the conference and video calls, the noise-canceling option is a godsend because my husband is also working at home too. It’s nice to have the noise canceling option when I really need to focus. I’ve also loved how easy they air to pair with my different devices. If you are looking to invest, the Airpod Pros have my endorsement!
